A turkey was given a second chance at life after it was struck by a car on West Meetinghouse Road last Thursday, August 15.

Police were called to the scene of the crash at 6:06 AM. The driver of the car called police to report that they had struck the bird with their car.

While the turkey was stuck in the car’s grille, it survived the crash.

Animal Control was contacted and transported the bird to a wildlife rescue where it was treated for a broken wing. The bird is expected to survive.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured in the crash.
