Police have charged two people with cocaine trafficking, as well as child endangerment, after serving a warrant at a Route 6A motel in Sandwich.
Detectives set up surveillance at the motel and noted heavy traffic in and out of the establishment. They were able to obtain probable cause warrants for Brian L. Costa II, 26, of Mashpee, and Hailee A. Perry, 19, of East Falmouth, based on their observations.
After obtaining the warrants, detectives continued to watch the motel until Mr. Costa and Ms. Perry returned.
Police said that when they approached Mr. Costa, he was sitting in a car with a child identified as his 5-year-old son. The boy’s grandmother was contacted to pick him up.
During the arrest, police found nearly 30 grams of cocaine.
Mr. Costa was arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking, possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute for a subsequent offense, reckless endangerment to a child under 18, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
Ms. Perry was arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking, reckless endangerment to a child under 18, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
