A Clinton, Connecticut, man is being summoned to court on firearms charges after a housekeeper at the Sandwich inn where he was staying found a loaded handgun tucked into the sheets of his bed while tidying his room.

Police responded to the Sandwich Inn and Suites on Route 6A at 1:02 PM Sunday, July 18, after the innkeeper reported the handgun.

Police said while the 60-year-old gun owner had a gun license from his home state of Connecticut, the man was not licensed in Massachusetts.

He has been summoned to court on a charge of improper storage of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.
