While traveling along Cotuit Road on Monday, August 30, a patrol officer spotted a vehicle being operated erratically at 5:45 PM.

The officer recognized the driver as Susan N. Kettell, 34, of Sandwich.

Police said Ms. Kettell, who the officer knew to be operating with a suspended license, admitted to drinking earlier in the day. She failed her field sobriety tests, police said.

She was charged with her fourth offense of operating under the influence of alcohol, a felony, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender, and class E drug possession misdemeanors.

During booking, Ms. Kettell was found in possession of a medication bottle with the label torn off. Police said that Ms. Kettell admitted it was her mother’s medication, Olanzapine, an antipsychotic medication that is used to treat psychotic conditions such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

In 2017, Ms. Kettell had a slew of notable run-ins with police, including being arrested for breaking into Lambert’s Farm Market on Cotuit Road to steal chicken salad and lasagna, and another arrest where she was witnessed baring her breasts and wielding a knife in a fit of road rage, police noted in their reports.

She has not been mentioned in the police reports since.
