A Forestdale woman is facing multiple charges, including operating under the influence of alcohol, after she crashed her car on Arnold Road on Wednesday last week, October 7.
Police were called to the scene of the crash by a 911 caller at 7:50 PM. The caller said the car had smashed into a tree.
When police arrived they found the caller standing outside of the crashed vehicle, which had veered off the roadway to the right before striking the tree. The driver, Megan J. Clark, 59, of Forestdale, was found in the driveway of her home, a few houses down the street from the crash site.
Ms. Clark was given a series of field sobriety tests, which she failed. She was not injured and was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
At 9:59 PM, a friend of Ms. Clark came to the police station to drop off bail money. However, police observed that the 56-year-old Sandwich woman was also intoxicated, and Ms. Clark’s friend was placed in protective custody.
