An East Sandwich woman who drove her car into Cape Cod Bay on Sunday, February 9, will be called to court on multiple charges, police said.

Police were called to Town Neck Road around 6 PM when someone reported the incident. A witness at the scene told police that they watched the woman drive her car around a barrier, down the beach, and into the ocean near the Drunken Seal.

Upon arrival, police found the car in the water, resting on top of rocks in one foot of water.

The woman was uninjured.

As a result of the incident, the 34-year-old East Sandwich woman will be summoned to court on charges of operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
