A Centerville woman is facing her second drunk driving charge following a traffic stop on Tupper Road on July 9, police said.
Police were called to Freezer Road at 8 PM when someone reported seeing a woman who was possibly drunk getting into a blue convertible to leave from the marina area.
Police found the vehicle on Tupper Road near Route 6A and attempted to stop the car. The driver did not immediately stop, police said. Once the vehicle did pull over, the officer approached and identified the driver as Helen A. Martino, 61, of Centerville.
The officer noted that the vehicle smelled of alcohol at the time of the stop.
Ms. Martino was given a series of field sobriety tests, which she failed, police said. She was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor for a second offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stop for police.
