A three-car crash on Route 6A near the former Sandwich Police Station on Saturday, January 11, resulted in one woman being sent to the hospital with a head injury.

Police were called to the scene at 3:36 PM when the crash was reported by multiple 911 callers.

Police said that the crash occurred when Anthony Kapadoukakis, 63, of Watertown was stopped in traffic and was rear-ended by a car driven by Amy Willoughby, 45, of Sandwich. Mr. Kapadoukakis told police that as a result of the impact, his car struck a white SUV. That vehicle left the area before police arrived and has not been located.

Ms. Willoughby told police that Mr. Kapadoukakis had slammed on his brakes and that she was not able to stop in time. She was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth with what police described as a minor head injury. Her vehicle was also towed.

There were no citations in the crash.
