A. Elizabeth (Rettig) Menslage, who leaves family in Sandwich, died June 22 at Life Care Center in Plymouth. She was 69.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of Agnes M. (Fitzpatrick) Fama and the late Carl James Rettig.

She was the wife of Ernest G. Menslage, who died in 2011. They were married for 34 years.

After graduating from Plymouth-Carver Regional High School, Ms. Menslage worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at Myles Standish State Park. She later joined the state Department of Mental Health as an administrative assistant.

An avid gardener, she also loved to travel and cook. She was a fan of the Boston Red Sox.

In addition to her mother, she leaves a son, Christopher L. Menslage of Sandwich; five sisters, Sharon Day of Sandwich, Patricia Hegerich of Plymouth, Caryl Cristani of Plymouth, Joy Ruggeri of Waltham, and Teresa DeCost of Plymouth; and extended family.

Services will be private.
