Dr. Darrell C. Blumer of Forestdale, who was born in 1944, died August 1.

He was the husband of Letitia (Johnson) Blumer, to whom he was married for 35 years.

He was the son of Robert H. and Mary E. Blumer.

Dr. Blumer had an undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and a doctoral degree in dentistry from The Ohio State University.

He had served in the Air Force at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

He and his wife became parents in 1990 while living in Mashpee; prior to that Dr. Blumer had been practicing dentistry in Duxbury.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his son, Christopher R. Blumer of Forestdale; a sister, Barbara Stockstill of Virginia; a brother, Dennis Blumer of Washington, DC; many nieces and nephews; and other family.

A graveside service will be Thursday, August 8, at 1:30 PM at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
