Elizabeth Lorraine Monagle, 91, of Sandwich died on June 7 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.

She was the daughter of Thomas and Helen (Ryan) Cronin and was born in Hingham.

She was the wife of Paul Monagle, whom she met while working the switchboard at an insurance company in Boston. They were married in 1958 and moved to Wollaston, where they raised their family before retiring to Sandwich in 1990. Mr. Monagle died 10 years ago.

Ms. Monagle was a volunteer at Green Briar Nature Center & Jam Kitchen, Falmouth Hospital and Sandwich Glass Museum for many years.

Among the activities she enjoyed were gardening, crafts and baking, in which pie crusts were her specialty.

When her husband was alive, the couple’s favorite vacation destination was Ogunquit, Maine.

She leaves two daughters, Marianne Parrelli and her husband, Brian Parrelli, of Rockland and Maureen Carrera and her husband, Andrew J. Carrera of East Sandwich; two grandchildren, Kevin Carrera and Bridget E. Carrera of East Sandwich; and other family.

Services are private.
