Kristan Dawn Kovalsky Lewis of Lakeville, formerly of Sandwich, died at home on September 23, after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was 48.
She was the wife of Eric W. Lewis, whom she met on May 24, 1991. They were together 11 years before getting married in 2002 and in June celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary.
Originally from Ohio, she was born in Painesville and for the first part of her life lived in Mentor, Ohio, before moving to Sandwich. After graduating from Sandwich High School in 1991, she went on to earn a bachelor of science degree from the University of Massachusetts.
Ms. Lewis began her career in the pharmaceutical industry, working for King Pharmaceuticals, and was in neuroscience sales for more than 20 years; for the past 10 years she worked with a team from Otsuka Pharmaceuticals.
She was active in the Lakeville community.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Riley Lewis and Ryan Lewis; her mother, Marian (Myers) Kovalsky of Fairhaven; her siblings, Brent Kovalsky of Apex, North Carolina, Nicole Kovlasky of Fairhaven and Courtney Kovalsky, also of Fairhaven; and other family.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Kovalsky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 8, at 11 AM at St. Joseph Church, 130 Common Street in Belmont.
Burial will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mt. Auburn Street in Cambridge.
