Marie B. Bekoff, 89, of Centerville died June 7. She leaves family in East Sandwich.

She was the widow of Joseph Bekoff, to whom she was married for 40 years.

She was the former wife of the late Joseph Leo Maloney.

Born in Bennington, Vermont, she was the daughter of William and Anna (Kelley) Billert.

She attended nursing school before marrying Mr. Maloney in 1950. As an Air Force family, they traveled to military bases in the US and abroad before settling at Otis Air Force Base and moving to Sandwich in 1956.

The couple opened Marshland Restaurant in Sandwich.

She and Joseph Bekoff, the owner of Atlantic Coast Fisheries in Sandwich, married in 1973. They moved to Centerville and, in 2002, began dividing their time between Centerville and Naples, Florida.

An avid reader, Ms. Bekoff also loved cooking, traveling, golfing and gardening, among other activities.

She leaves her children, Karen Maloney of Osterville, Colleen Foley of Osterville, Joseph Maloney of East Sandwich, Kellie Fillebrown of Malden, and James Maloney of Centerville; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and other family.

A celebration of her life is planned for a date to be determined.
