Marilyn (Kristenson) Kelly, 90, of Sandwich died July 1. She was formerly of Woburn.
She was the wife of William T. Kelly. Her husband died in 1997.
The daughter of Karl and Ingrid (Hallen) Kristenson, she was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania, and raised in Somerville, where she attended high school. She furthered her education at Simmons College School of Nursing, graduating in 1951.
Ms. Kelly was a hospital nurse and also a nursing professor for many years.
She enjoyed serving on reunion committees for her high school and college. A former Girl Scout leader, she had also taught EMT classes with her husband. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church and sang in the choir at her church.
An accomplished baker, her specialties were cakes and chocolates for every occasion. She was proud of her Swedish heritage. Her favorite places of those she had visited were Scandinavia, Ireland, Hawaii and Alaska.
Ms. Kelly leaves her daughters, Kristine Sullivan of West Barnstable, Karen Wollard of Hollywood, Florida, and Kimberly White of Danville, New Hampshire; five grandchildren; and other family.
She was predeceased by a sister and a brother.
A graveside service was held Monday, July 6, at Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn.
