Richard J. Tellier of Boston and East Sandwich, a professional musician and music educator, died November 17. He was 85.

He was the husband of Linda June Harvey. His wife died in 2016.

Mr. Tellier’s duo, The Two of Us, performed music for all generations for many years. His primary instrument in performance was the stringed bass.

He directed the children’s choir at Parish of Christ the King in Mashpee and served in the 567th Air Force Band. He was named Cape Cod Entertainer of the Year in 1976.

Mr. Tellier was educated at Lowell State College and worked as a music teacher in North Easton and in Randolph.

A member of the National Teachers Association and Massachusetts Teachers Association, he also was a former president of The Cape and Islands Tour Guide Association. He belonged to the Clipped Wings and Cape Cod ski clubs.

He leaves a daughter, Patricia Tellier and her husband, Adron Gaut; and his wife’s family, Susan, Stan, Nicholas and Christopher Jennings.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 7, beginning at 10 AM in the chapel at Parish of Christ the King in Mashpee. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 o’clock.
