Sandra J. (Libby) Christiansen, 81, of East Sandwich died August 22 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, following a battle with leukemia.

She was the wife of Paul Christiansen for 61 years.

The daughter of Arthur E. and Dorothy M. (Goucher) Libby, she was raised in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School in 1957.

After attending Chandler Secretarial School in Boston, she worked as a private secretary at Rust Craft Greeting Card Company in Dedham. In her later years, Ms. Christiansen worked and volunteered at the Tradewinds Adult Day Health Center.

Ms. Christiansen hosted many holiday gatherings through the years, and flower arranging and watching golf and Boston Red Sox games on television were among her favorite activities. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to Florida in the winter.

In addition to her husband, she leaves two children, Curtis Christiansen of Falmouth and Anne Clifford of Marstons Mills; eight grandchildren, Katie, Daniel, Ryan and Bradley Christiansen, Derek Scace, William Clifford, Alyssa Ware and Ethan Clifford; four great-granddaughters; her sister Brenda Fraser of Sandwich; and other family.

She was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Packard.

A private burial service will be conducted prior to interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
