In the interest of Keeping Sandwich Beautiful, the medians about town, that are public lands, are not groomed throughout the year
A few ideas here:
Plan A: This is the Job of the Parks Dept. at the Department of Public Works, DPW. I have called them a few times to do this over the years, and they have said that they do not do this? As a taxpayer, who is interested to see all these leaves removed, the town should take care of all its public lands. We neighbors simply do not have room for all these leaves on our own private lands. So, can the DPW please do its job here. If you are a Sandwich resident with the same concerns to keep Sandwich beautiful, please speak up at the next Town Meeting. Thank you.
Plan B: If the DPW, Parks Dept. will not beautify all the public lands in Sandwich, then let’s allow a landscape company to do a median and stick up their landscape sign in it for free for a month. Similar to what local business does for the gardens at the street light intersections.
Plan C: Hire some high school students during the fall cleanup to help with the workload. Creates jobs and keeps Sandwich Beautiful.
I am hopeful that something can be worked out with our nice Parks Dept. at the DPW.
