Can someone please explain why we need single-use plastic water bottles ? I can think of so many reasons we don’t:

  1. Plastic may break down, but it doesn’t disappear. We find it in our water, our air, and even our fish (that is, it’s in us). Reusable aluminum and/or stainless steel bottles work just as well as plastic. Actually, they work better because they don’t leach dangerous chemicals into our water. In most cases, tap water is as good or better than bottled water (and it’s free!). You don’t see aluminum or stainless steel bottles strewn around town nearly as much as you do plastic.

Gosh, I’m so old I remember a time before plastic containers. And guess what, we did just fine. I also remember the outcry when plastic bags were banned. And guess what, we are doing just fine. I truly don’t understand why people are against banning single-use water bottles. Can someone please explain? Lynn Stevens Horseshoe Circle Sandwich
