At the Special Town Meeting on October 28, over 900 Sandwich voters turned out to support their library and their Council on Aging. With an almost unanimous vote, they approved Article 1 to finance library renovations and to construct the Center for Active Living with a gymnasium.

This article could not have been successfully presented without the cooperative and intensive efforts of our town manager and the Board of Selectmen; Senior and Community Services Director Susan Marancik and the board of the Council on Aging; and library Director Joanne Lamothe and the Trustees of the Sandwich Library.

Most importantly, this article would not have passed without the tremendous support of our caring voters. Thanks to all of you who came out to Sandwich High School on a chilly, drizzly evening to pass Article 1.
