As many of you may know the recently decorated parking lot at Sandwich High School was vandalized last weekend. The most heinous of the vandalism included swastikas being painted on the lot.

While we do not feel that these were deliberately done with anti-Semitism in mind, we still understand the horrible significance of that symbol. We as a school committee want to make it clear that because of that significance, this was not a harmless prank and we will not stand for anti-Semitism, racism or bigotry in our community.

As you know, the current political climate in the country is downright toxic. We must be better than that, and we believe that we are. In closing, the Sandwich School Committee would like to reiterate that it firmly stands opposed to anti-Semitism, racism and bigotry and it will not be tolerated.
