After suffering a rare league loss on the road at Nantucket a few weeks back, the Sandwich High School girls’ lacrosse team exacted some revenge at home on Wednesday, June 9. The Whalers had scored a 9-7 win against the Lady Knights two weeks prior. This time around they scored the same amount of goals, but Sandwich did not.

The Lady Knights popped home 11 more goals in the rematch than the first contest and cruised to an 18-9 win at Deconto Stadium.

Senior Macey White played a big hand in the win as she had five goals and an assist to pace the offense. Not far behind was Claire Moniz, who had four goals and an assist to her credit. Riley Morrison scored three and assisted on one while Riley Brown had two goals and three assists overall.

Single goals were scored by Eden Ocampo, Kolbie Oarman, Bridget Gleason and Sydney Hanlon. Goalie Maria Hurley made six stops in the net for the Lady Knights.

Sandwich improved to 7-3 overall, with two games left to go before entering the MIAA state tournament.
