Sophia Visceglio

Sandwich sophomore Sophia Visceglio has been the personification of a brick wall in net for the Blue Knights’ girls hockey team this season.

Boasting a goals against average that hovers right around one per game and a save percentage of 95, it’s no wonder Sandwich has locked up a spot in the Division 2 state tournament early on.

She posted a shutout in the sixth annual Lady Canal Cup against ORR/BMUA — her third straight clean sheet and fourth of the season. A day later, she played admirably on short rest against league rival Dennis-Yarmouth in a 2-1 loss before recording an 8-2 home win against Bishop Stang on Wednesday, February 5.
