The year 2021 was a year of adaptation and adjustment (or readjustment). It was a time when many of us returned to the office or the classroom after many months in seclusion. Some of us went eagerly, ready for a break from home. Others went warily, even reluctantly.
It was also the year of the vaccine, vaccine resistance and variants. The year began with the attack on the US Capitol, peaked with a summer that seemed almost normal and then drew to a close with renewed concern about surging COVID infection rates.
But even amidst the turmoil, there was still plenty of room left for some good news. This year's list of the most-read stories on www.capenews.net presents a good mix of all of it.
